Dutch Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) Foundation Scholarship
HSC Level.


Eligibility

Applicants must be passed SSC or Equivalent exam in 2013.

Applicants must have GPA 5.00 for under city corporation area School/Institute, GPA 4.70 for under district area School/Institute and GPA 4.50 for others remote area students (without 4th subjects) out of GPA 5.00 scale for all groups.

Facility

Scholarship Duration: 2 years (Renewable).
Monthly Scholarship: Tk. 2000/-.
Annul grant for reading materials: Tk. 2500/-.
Annual grant for clothing: Tk. 1000/-.

Apply Procedure

Application form will be available in all the branches of Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited, where there is no branch of Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited; the applicants may apply in plain paper giving personal, academic and contact details (mentioning post code).

Following documents have to be attached with the application form:
1. 4 copies of recent passport size photograph, photocopies of certificates, mark sheets/transcripts & testimonials.
2. All documents will have to be duly attested by the Head of the Institution where last attended, income certificates of father/mother/guardian from 2 different sources: (a) Government gazetted officer; (b)Head of institution where last attended.
3. Students who enjoyed DBBL scholarship at H.S.C level (based on S.S.C result) should mention it clearly at the top of the form/application.
Application should reach Dutch-Bangla Bank Foundation, Senakalyan Bhaban (5th Floor), 195 Motijheel C/A, Dhaka-1000 on or before 30 September, 2012.

Selection Procedure

Students containing scholarship from others sources will not qualify for Dutch Bangla Bank Foundation (DBBF) Scholarship.

Special Note

candidates who are already received scholarship from others organization they are needs not to apply.
90% scholarship will be earmarked for rural students who have passed from the intuition situated outside of City Corporation areas.
50% scholarship will be earmarked for female students.
Candidates who are selected for scholarship they must be studding in class eleven and recommendation letter issued by department head of institute.

Pipilika is the first and only Bangladeshi Search Engine, developed by 11 students of SUST. It supports both Bangla and English Language.

Many search engines has in the world. Worldwide famous and topes search engine is Google. Actually, it is the new journey for the Bangladeshi developer and engineers' towards the worldwide completions.

Bangladesh developers made different kinds of software's or website in the worldwide but its new website which is first for Bangladesh.

Professor Dr. Muhammad Jafar Iqbal was the project director and Ruhul Amin Sajib was main researcher and team leader.

Ruhul Amin Sajib said, "We have uploaded the beta version and we are always developing the features and functions. Anyone can send us advice."

The developers said that, it's a beta version that's why people may face some problem to use it but readers can find their searched topics easily.

The beta version of Pikilika search, it's a free web service that helps the country to search for the latest available data. In the first stage, this search engine automatically analyzes the data and save of Bangladeshi main Bengali and English newspapers news, blogs Bengali and Bengali Wikipedia.

Pipilika has 4 different types of search facilities of data, News search, blog search, and the search for Bengali Wikipedia e-data cell.

দেড় মাসের মধ্যে বাংলাদেশে ইন্টারনেটে অর্থ লেনদেনের সহজ পদ্ধতি পেপাল ‘পেপাল’ চালু হবে বলে জানিয়েছেন অর্থমন্ত্রী আবুল মাল আবদুল মুহিত।

বৃহস্পতিবার দুপুরে ঢাকা থেকে ভিডিও কনফারেন্সে সিলেটে ই-বাণিজ্য মেলার উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে তিনি এ কথা জানান।
সিলেটের মোহাম্মদ আলী জিমন্যাসিয়ামে আয়োজিত ওই মেলার আয়োজন করা হয়েছে।
অনুষ্ঠানে তিনি বলেন, “আগামী দেড় মাসের মধ্যে দেশে চালু হবে ইন্টারনেটে অর্থ লেনদেনের সবচেয়ে জনপ্রিয় ও সহজ পদ্ধতি পেপাল। এখন দেশে অনেক প্রতিষ্ঠান ই-কমার্সের মাধ্যমে লেনদেন করছে। মোবাইল ও ইন্টারনেট প্রযুক্তির কারণে এটি দ্রুত ছড়িয়ে পড়ছে।”
তবে বর্তমান সরকারের মেয়াদে ই-গভর্মেন্ট করা সম্ভব হবে না বলে জানান অর্থমন্ত্রী।

উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে আরো বক্তব্য রাখেন সিলেট সিটি কর্পোরেশনের মেয়র বদরউদ্দিন আহমদ কামরান ও সিলেটের জেলা প্রশাসক খান মোহাম্মদ বিলাল।
এবারই প্রথম সিলেটে ই-বাণিজ্য মেলার আয়োজন করা হলো। তিন দিনব্যাপী এ মেলা সকাল ১০ টা থেকে রাত ৮টা পর্যন্ত চলবে।

মেলার আয়োজক সিলেট জেলা প্রশাসন ও মাসিক কম্পিউটার জগৎ। মেলায় অনলাইনে কেনাবেচার ও সেবাদাতা বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠানের ৪০টিরও বেশি স্টল রয়েছে।

Darmasiswa Scholarship Program for International Students 2013-14
HSC, Bachelor, Masters, PhD Level.

Eligibility

Each participant has to fulfill these requirements as the follows:
a. Not more than 35 years of age
b. Completed secondary education or its equivalent.
c. In good health as proved by Medical Certificate.
d. Able to communicate in English and additional language Indonesia is required.
e. Have basic knowledge of the field applicants are applying for.

Facility

The Scholarship covers:
a. Living Cost: Rp. 1,200.000
b. Book Allowances: Rp. 200.000
c. Local Transport: Rp. 200.000
d. Medical/Health Care: Rp. 200.000
e. Pocket Money: Rp. 200.000

The participant is advised to bring enough money in US dollar for unexpected additional expenses in Indonesia.

***The Ministry of Education and Culture does not provide the return International airfare to Indonesia. They only provide the transportation from Jakarta to place of study; however the transportation from place of study to Jakarta will be carried out by participants.
* The Ministry of Education and Cultural doesn't provide the accommodation for participants.
* The Ministry of Education and Culture (MoEC) will not provide health insurance; therefore the participants are expected to have the International insurance.

Apply Procedure

Applicants should collect application form from the Website.

The applicant should register through the following procedures:
Prospective participants are required to register at the Embassy/Consulate General in the country of origin of participants, and for participants who are not in the participant's home country is not allowed to be registered through the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate General in the participating countries (non-citizenship).

To apply the Darmasiswa scholarship program, participant must submit a complete application package to the IE/CG that includes all the following items:
a. Completed admission application form,
b. Copy of academic transcript and certificates,
c. Copy passport valid at least 18 months from time of arrival in Indonesia,
d. Curriculum vitae/resume,
e. Passport size color photograph (5 pieces).

Special Note

a. Scholarships are given only if the participants are presence of at least 75% per month.

b. Exam can be done if the presence of at least 75% of total attendance.

c. Certificates are awarded if the participants take a test completely.

d. Absence is permitted, only for certain reasons:
*Sick (by physician statement's letter), *Parents/family visit (maximum 1 week), *Another cause of all the
reasons can be accounted for.

The 2013-2014 Commonwealth Scholarship for students from developing countries to study in New Zealand is now open for applications. The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) is an international programme under which member governments offer scholarships and fellowships to citizens of other Commonwealth countries.

The CSFP was established at the first Commonwealth education conference in 1959 and is reviewed by education ministers at their triennial meetings – the only scholarship scheme in the world to receive such high-level recognition.

New Zealand offers Commonwealth Scholarships for Master's and PhD study.

Commonwealth Scholarships awardees can only study at these New Zealand universities: Auckland University of Technology, Lincoln University, Massey University, University of Auckland, University of Canterbury, University of Otago, Victoria University of Wellington and University of Waikato.

The application form is available from the applicant's Nominating Agency. The form has been updated for use for applications in 2013.

Applicants must complete the application form for the New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarships for tenure from 2014. Applications on any other application form will not be considered. The list of Nominating Agency will be found in this link List of Nominating Agency.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to be considered for a Commonwealth Scholarship an applicant must:
a. have citizenship of a participating developing Commonwealth country; permanent residents of a participating country are not eligible to apply;
b. be residing in their country of citizenship, preferably for at least two years prior to application;
c. not have citizenship or permanent residence status of New Zealand or Australia, or another developed country , except where their country does not issue passports and they hold a New Zealand passport (i.e. the Cook Islands, Niue or Tokelau);
d. not be married or engaged to be married to a person who holds, or who is eligible to hold, citizenship or permanent residence status of New Zealand, Australia or another developed country, except where their country does not issue passports and they hold a New Zealand passport (i.e. the Cook Islands, Niue or Tokelau);
e. be applying to commence a new qualification and not be seeking funding for one already commenced at PhD or Masters level;
f. satisfy the admission requirements of the New Zealand university at which the qualification is to be undertaken, including English language criteria;
g. have been working in their country of citizenship, preferably for at least two years prior to application;
h. hold a first degree of upper second class Honours (or above); or a second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification, which will normally be a Master's degree;
i. be available to commence their academic studies in New Zealand at the start of the New Zealand academic year in February 2014;
j. have already secured admission to their preferred New Zealand university; evidence of admission (eg. a letter of offer) is required with the application form; a conditional letter of offer from a New Zealand university is sufficient to allow an application to be accepted;
k. have a planned programme start date (in the letter of offer) at the start of the New Zealand Academic year in February 2014; offers for a planned start date for Semester 2, 2014 cannot be accepted.

Applicants cannot:

a. be studying full time at post-secondary level;
b. be transferring from another tertiary scholarship (either in New Zealand or in another country) to a Commonwealth Scholarship;
c. hold, or have held, a New Zealand Government or Australian Government scholarship in the 24 months preceding the scholarship start date;
d. have been terminated from a New Zealand or Australian Government scholarship previously.

Application Procedure

Each applicant must submit to their Nominating Agency one (1) original application form and all requested attachments.

Please note that the Nominating Agency must receive complete applications containing all of the information stated below. Applications that are incomplete and do not contain all documentation stated below will not be assessed.

The application declaration in Section 11 must be signed by the applicant. In addition to the application form the following documents are required:
a. Certified copy of applicant's birth certificate (in English);
b. Certified copy of official evidence of any name change for applicant (in English);
c. Certified copy of the personal pages of applicant's passport;
d. Certified copy of the academic transcript for all tertiary qualifications held by the applicant and the grading schedule for each qualification (in English);
e. Certified copy of the completion or graduation certificate for each tertiary qualification that the applicant has completed (in English);
f. If the applicant is employed, a current job description confirming their position and outlining their responsibilities and duties;
g. A current (dated) curriculum vitae - a brief history of the applicant's education, work experiences and skills;
h. Three (3) references (no more than 24 months old) on official letterhead, supporting the scholarship application to study in New Zealand, and relevant to their proposed study programme or research topic. References should be provided from the applicant's current employer, a former lecturer or academic supervisor (in an area of study relevant to the application) and, where possible, a relevant government or community based organisation; Note: Applications with less than three references will be disadvantaged;
i. An letter of offer from the New Zealand University at which the applicant wishes to study (see Section 8 of the application form);
j. A 500 word statement describing the specific skills and knowledge the applicant wishes to gain from the proposed study and how this will contribute to the applicant's current and/or future job (see Section 9 of the application form);
k. A 500 word statement describing how the applicant's proposed area of study will enable them to contribute to the social or economic development of their home country (see Section 9 of the application form);
l. A 500 word statement outlining the proposed research topic (see Section 9 of the application form).

Selection Criteria

The nominations submitted to Universities NZ will be considered by the selection committee according to the following selection criteria:

- academic merit of the candidate.
- the quality of the research proposal.
- the likely impact of the work on the development of the candidate's home country.
The assessment schedule which will be used is:

* Examination results.
* Academic transcripts.
* Referees' reports.
* Any academic prizes.
* Other relevant activities.
* Publications, where appropriate.

Development Impact
* The extent to which the candidate illustrates that the proposed study will increase knowledge about development and / or solutions to poverty reduction (including, amongst other themes, public health, education, governance, political, social and economic development and environment).
* Relevance and extent to which the Plan of Study fits well with the strengths and career aspirations of the candidate.

Quality of Study Plans - PhD Applications
* Extent to which the study programme has been well researched and thought out, including the identification of appropriate institution and supervisor.
* Degree of innovation.
* Likely impact.
* Clarity of presentation.
* Relevance to field.
* Feasibility.

Quality of Study Plans - Masters Applications

* Extent to which the proposed course / institution of study has been well researched (including specific options and dissertation topics, where appropriate) and presented.
* Clarity of presentation.

Exam and Results / NU Master's Final Results Published on Feb 8, 2013

The Results of all subjects of the masters final examinations of 2009 of National University (NU) were announced on February 8, 2013.

Acting director of the Public Relations and Publication Department of NU Foyzul Karim said the pass rate was 94.22 per cent.

A total of 87,826 candidates sat for the masters final exams, of which 82,751 passed.

A total of 13,485 secured first class, 67,937 second class and 1,329 got third class.

The results will be sent to the colleges concerned. The results are available on NU websites: www.nu.edu.bd and www.nu-results.net.

The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) on Thursday issued the circular for the 34th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination to fill some 2,050 vacant posts of different cadres.

The PSC issued the circular on its website (http://www.bpsc.gov.bd).

Online filling of forms and fees deposition will start at 10am Feb 18.

The aspirants will be able to submit application forms until 6pm Mar 19 and the fees until 6pm Mar 22.

As many as 442 eligible candidates, including 200 in administrative cadre and 80 in police, will be recruited from the general category through the 34th BCS exam.

Besides, 487 candidates will be recruited from the professional and technical categories, while 64 will be recruited for the government-run teachers training colleges from the general education cadre category.

Heinrich Boll Scholarships (2012-13) in Germany for Bangladeshi Students
Masters, PhD Level.


Eligibility

International students of all subjects in a Masters’s & Doctoral programme, who gained their university entrance qualification from a school outside of Germany and who would like to study in Germany.

For Masters Programme:
• Applications are possible before applicants begin their Master’s programme or within the first semester (at the time of application).
• Applicants must have already obtained a first university degree.
• Good or very good knowledge of German is a requirement. The selection workshops are generally held in German (if a scholarship is granted, additional German language courses can be financed.

For Doctoral Programme:
• Applicants must provide proof that they have been accepted as a doctoral student by a German institution of higher education.
• Preference will be given to dissertation projects related to the working areas of the Heinrich Böll Foundation.
• Good or very good knowledge of German is a requirement. The selection workshops are generally held in German (if a scholarship is granted, additional German language courses can be financed).

Facility

€750 per month for Masters students and €1000 per month for PhD students.

Apply Procedure

The application portal will be open from January 14th until March 1st 2013. Applications must be made in German language.
Applications will be accepted only Online. Please visit the website and follow the instruction.

Applicants should not wait until the last day of the application period to submit their application. They can submit application as soon as they have uploaded all required documents.

***The scholarships are awarded for all subjects. Having in the past awarded scholarships mainly to students of the humanities, social sciences, art, and culture, the Foundation is now, in addition, particularly interested in students of economics, law, engineering, science, mathematics, and journalism.

The Heinrich Böll Foundation awards scholarships to international students who gained their university entrance qualification from a school outside of Germany who wish to study a Masters or PhD Degree in any subject in Germany.

Scholarships of Politecnico di Milano for International Students
Masters Level.

Eligibility

1. Applicants must have a Bachelor Degree.

2. Applicants have not finished the university yet, but they will graduate by July (for the 1st semester entry) or by December (for the 2nd semester entry) can apply.

3. All candidates with only 10 years of school attendance (both primary and secondary) will have to demonstrate to have completed a Bachelor programme of minimum 5 years of legal length.

The minimum requirements for English language proficiency (for Master of Science programmes taught in English) are as follows:
1. TOEFL CBT: 210
2. TOEFL IBT: 78
3. TOEFL PBT: 547

Facility

If students selected for scholarship then total volume foe scholarship is 8300 euros per year. From that amount 3300 euro for tuition fees, 2000 euro cash money, remaining 3000 euro for accommodation and catering service.

Apply Procedure

To apply for a Master of Science programme, they have to:

Register online in order to obtain the credentials (person code and password) to access the online application form.

Fill out the online application form and upload the required documents, the online application consists of 4 steps:
1. Educational background,
2. Master of Science programme(s) selection,
3. Other information,
4. Documents upload.

Please note that the information entered in STEP 1-2-3 can be modified within 5 days after the first access to the online application form.

After completing STEP 3 you have to download, save and print out the PDF file of the application receipt from the box “Polimi Official Documents” within your account. STEP 4 can be completed later on, as long as the application calls are open (be aware of the set deadline!)
